Temtem. Have you heard of it? What do you think about it? Will you try playing it?
I’ve heard of it, but I’m not an MMO person and I have no desire to be, so I don’t really care much about it. I wish them all the best, but I don’t have the time or interest to play it.

TemTem as a game suffers *hard* from being glorified pokemon fanfiction. It doesn’t try to make its world make any sense beyond turning to the camera and saying “We’re pokemon, but all self-aware and funny”.
Like there’s a throwaway line when you meet the professor where he says he won your starter pokemon in a bar fight and… cool? Very clever you’ve juxtaposed the cute world with an adult joke? Care to actually explain what is actually going on though? No okay.
Gen 1 games weren’t exactly bastions of storytelling either. But they A) were on a console that can be outperformed by a modern pregnancy test, and B) also kinda did explain the basics like “The gyms are what all 10-year-olds do, they’re part of growing up!” which is 5x more than Temtem has any inspiration to say.
